OVERVIEW
We’ve left no stone unturned to pick out the best local gems and properties for you in Rwanda. Arrive in Kigali and explore the heartbeat of the country: this city is clean, safe, vibrant on its way to become the “Silicon Valley” of Africa. Dive into the stirring history by visiting the Kigali Genocide Museum or absorb the impressions of a country on the rise in the energizing city centre, its markets or restaurants.
Leaving the urban jungle behind, it’s time to venture out into a real one: in the northwest of Rwanda lies the famous Volcanoes National Park. The lush rainforest encompasses the Virunga Mountains and is home to the mountain gorilla. The primates share this beautiful habitat surrounding ancient volcanoes like the Bisoke and Gahinga with other monkeys and a myriad of bird species. Some mistakenly call it gorilla walking, but not even gorilla trekking does it justice as it’s so much more.
If you feel like disconnecting from the world completely, we recommend a stay in Nyungwe Forest National Park. This fairy-tale land of impenetrable jungle, waterfalls and low-hanging mist is the ideal place for introspection and the pure absorption of the elements. We at AMADI are happy to combine your journey with some of the beautiful Uganda safaris in the neighbouring country.

Travel Information
Passport & Visas
From 1st Jan 2018, Nationals of all countries receive visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport and all land borders. Visitors who wish to visit simultaneously the three countries (Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda) for tourism may apply for the East Africa Tourist Visa (EATV) online. It costs USD 100 and is valid for multiple entries between the three countries up to 90 days. You can also obtain a visa from the Rwandan embassy in your home country prior to arrival, please check with your local embassy or consulate.
Currency & Payment
The currency of Rwanda is the Rwanda Franc (RFr). We recommend to bring Euros or US Dollars to pay for smaller expenses, tips etc. There are ATMs and exchange bureaus in the larger cities and credit cards are widely accepted, especially in hotels and lodges.
Health & Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccinations are required for both Uganda and Rwanda. You will already be asked for your yellow fever vaccination certificate when checking in for your flight into and out of Rwanda. It must be valid for ten years and the shot must be taken at least ten days before arrival.
