Botswana Immersion & Victoria Falls

We have explored the lands and endless opportunities of southern Africa to find the truly most romantic places for disconnecting from the world in intimate togetherness. You want to avoid the beach clichés and luxury resorts? Join the tribe of romantic nature lovers and indulge in the wonders of Botswana, an untouched wildlife paradise, and in beautiful experiences in Victoria Falls and on the banks of the Zambezi.
OVERVIEW

Let us introduce you to your romantic safari adventure in the most hassle-free and convenient way. Before you head off into the unfenced and wild beauty of Botswana, spend a few nights in a hidden gem among South Africa’s nature reserves. Madikwe is a malaria-free Big Five destination with an unexpected diversity in landscapes. You then cross the border to Botswana and immerse in a truly out-of-this world experience in the Magkadigkadi National Park. The huge salt pan resembles what we imagine the moon to look like and promises complete tranquillity, stillness and the most magical sunsets.

Not much further north, the Okavango Delta awaits as being the epitome of a wildlife paradise with elephants wading through the territories of hippos and crocodiles, where waterways alternate with small islands, lined with palm trees and thick bush. Your next stop is the famous Savute marshlands in the Chobe region, where numerous wildlife documentaries were filmed and you and your number one can make tv a reality. Conclude and toast to this romantic dream journey in Victoria Falls on a dinner cruise on the Zambezi.

Makgadikgadi

3 Nights

Your first stop in the ever-changing landscapes of Botswana is Makgadikgadi, a vast area of nothingness, of moon-like salt pans that will enchant you with pure tranquility. The return of water in recent years to the Boteti River has brought back wildlife, so expect to see lions, zebras, springboks and elephants. Especially between May and September in dry season the river is the only source of water and is like a magnet for many animals. Famous residents of the area are the cuttle little meerkats, which fascinate with their social structure and role as Africa’s lookout posts. The region is also rich in culture and history: learn from the ancient tribe of the Bushmen how to survive in this seemingly inhospitable landscape.

Okavango Delta

3 Nights

Get ready for a complete contrast after the arid Makgadikgadi National Park. There is no place on earth like the Okavango Delta. A phrase often overused, but in this case we mean it. This largest inland delta is one of the world’s last truly unspoiled wildlife areas with beautiful landscapes and a plethora of animals. The mountain rains in Angola are responsible for an annual awakening of Africa’s wildlife. The many waterways redraw the map of the region each year and and you can look forward to silent safaris in a traditional dugout canoe, a mokoro, or you go out on a game drive spotting elephants, hippos, lions and many more. The Okavango Delta is famous for its beautiful remote lodges and is the antidote of overtourism.

Chobe National Park

2 Nights

In the northeast of the Okavango Delta, the Chobe National Park awaits, a wildlife paradise known for some of the largest elephant and buffalo herds in the world. The landscape is forged by the river of the same name, grass plains und bush, all dotted by the occasional palm tree. Due its easy accessibility it definitely gets more crowded than the Delta, but its stunning scenery and wealth in wildlife makes it no less alluring. The Savuti area, home to some of the most famous lion prides in the world (due to their appearance in well-known wildlife documentaries), is less frequented and boasts a beautiful melange of grasslands, swamps, baobab trees and of course the Savuti channel itself.

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

3 Nights

Your last stop is one of the Seven Natural World Wonders. The Victoria Falls leave us human beings in awe and teach us the overwhelming grandeur of nature. The origin of Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, is an attraction in itself, with a myriad of beautiful experiences. While most visitors expect a guided tour of the Falls to be the absolute highlight, they will be surprised by how many more activities can fill their days here. Learn to cook like a local on the shores of the Zambezi, go on a beautiful sunset cruise passing by elephants, hippos and crocs or cross the Victoria Falls Bridge to Zambia in a historic tram. Our favourite hangout is the ultra-stylish Zambezi House with an interior you would normally expect in Cape Town or Lagos.
