Cape Town & Cederberg Mountains

Everyone knows Cape Town. But have you heard of a natural treasure, a true hidden gem around 3 hours north of the Mother City. Escape into the stunning semi-desert landscape of the Cederberg Mountains after a couple stimulating days of culture, culinary delights, beach and bars in the ‘Mother City’.
OVERVIEW

You start off in Cape Town, Africa’ southernmost metropolis, which is trending more than ever for a reason. Engulfed by mountains and the ocean, the beautiful surroundings enchant lovers of outdoor activities and beach seekers alike. Rounded off by world-class yet affordable restaurants and a brimming nightlife, you will have plenty of time to connect with locals and get a taste of the Capetonian lifestyle.

As much as we enjoy that lifestyle in Cape Town ourselves, we understand it can also be quite exhausting. If you are longing for a break, we have the perfect getaway for you. Still – and to our great surprise – fairly unknown, the Cederberg Mountains are an absolute must when you’re in Cape Town. Understand South Africa a little better beyond the tourist masses a little during the scenic drive up north past vast plains and farmland. Arrive in a semi-desert wonderland full of unique rock formations, mountains, streams and pure nothingness. Reconnect with nature on hikes to hidden waterfalls or the monumental Maltese Cross.

YOUR JOURNEY

Cape Town

4 Nights

Start your journey off with a highlight: Cape Town. The mother of South Africa’s cities will embrace you with a unique fusion of culture and cuisine. Home to the monumental Table Mountain, award-winning wine farms, beaches and a Mediterranean climate, not to mention it is also one of the gourmet capitals of the world. From a cultural perspective: why don’t you skip all those fancy restaurants with Western cuisine and try your luck at a Cape Malay cooking class in the colourful Bo-Kaap, a truly local experience. In walking distance from the muslim neighbourhood lies the Central Business District and speaking of walking, we recommend taking part in a guided tour through the historic Company Gardens, surrounded by some of Cape Town’s best museums including the SA National Gallery or the South African Jewish Museum. A highlight is definitely the recently opened Zeitz MOCAA in the Silo District. This museum put Cape Town on the map as an international hotspot for contemporary art.
