OVERVIEW
We couldn’t be more excited to share this incredible experience with you. Not only will our guests have the opportunity to venture into the enchanted jungles of Odzala – a place completely unchanged for thousands of years – but they also directly contributing to conserve this magical place. There is no mass tourism here, limited access is controlled by Odzala Discovery, there are only a three camps in the entire national park and the main premise of tourism is conservation and community uplifting – nothing else.
Your adventure starts in Ngaga Camp, a little treehouse village nestled in the lush thickness of the jungle. Childhood dreams come true with guests staying in traditional round straw huts in the canopy. This is where you will set out to get a glimpse into the rare lowland gorillas habitat.
A nice contrast awaits at Lango Camp, overlooking a bai, a large marshy clearing attracting elusive forest elephants, buffalo, hyenas and a myriad of birdlife. Last stop is Mboko Camp, on the banks of the Lekoli River, perfect to reflect on your once-in-a-lifetime experience and conclude this trip.

2 NightsYOUR JOURNEY
Brazzaville
1 NightYou journey of the senses starts in Brazzaville, a colourful melting pot of authenticity. Explore the markets, visit the turquoise-tiled Basilique Sainte-Anne and admire the fashion excesses of the “Congo Sapeurs”. Since you’ve only just arrived, we recommend a boat ride on the mighty Congo River (the second largest in Africa) to relax a bit and also get a good sense of your location. While calm drifting down the stream you will even be able to see the neighbouring country Congo-Kinshasa. For the lovers of architecture visit the beautiful Basilique Sainte-Anne and if you like markets, our top choice is Le Marché de Poto Poto.
Ngaga Camp
3 NightsLeave the concrete jungle of Brazzaville behind and get ready to dive deep into an actual rainforest, into the true wild heart of Africa, undiscovered and pristine wilderness. Your first stop on this exhilarating rainforest adventure is Ngaga Camp. This authentic and remote lodge lies on the border of the Ndzehe concession and overlooks a beautiful open glade within primary forest above a forest stream. You will be surrounded by several overlapping home ranges of the western lowland gorillas, which you will trek directly from the camp. There are other primate species you might see on the way including the Crowned and Moustached Monkeys as well as other animals such as the stunning Black-casqued Wattled Hornbill or the Great Blue Turaco.

Lango Camp
2 NightsVenture onto the south central part of Odzala-Kokoua National Park and arrive at Lango Camp. This small, intimate property with only six rooms makes everyone’s childhood dream of your own treehouse in the rainforest true. The main building and rooms are tucked away in the lush vegetation of the jungle, while a huge viewing deck looks out onto the characteristic marshy clearing, the bais, which are home to indigenous species of hippo, buffalo and hyena. Go for walks along the edges of the bai scaring off African Green Pigeons and Grey Parrots or spotting the beautiful Western Sitatunga antelope. Another highlight are watching small herds of Forest Elephants passing through, being slightly smaller and looking quite different from their cousins in the rest of Africa.

The camp is surrounded by a vast patch of savannah, which regularly attracts forest buffalo, forest elephant and spotted hyena. This is the largest camp out of the three inviting you to mingle with other guests and share your incredible experiences. The adventure is far from over of course: here you can go for more nature walks, go on a boat ride or a canoeing trip on the river. Look out for the smaller wonders of the Congo including beautiful butterflies, unique plant species or nocturnal animals like the aardvark.
