Zambia Low-Impact Adventure

Zambia Low-Impact Adventure

Zambia Low-Impact Adventure

If you are trying to avoid following the beaten track, this journey is just for you. We have created this itinerary for our genuine wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists through the most pristine and untouched areas in Zambia, leaving little or no ecological footprint at all.
OVERVIEW

The Zambian side of Victoria Falls is much calmer and focussed on enjoying the wonders of the mighty Zambezi. Watch elephants feed on the shores, hippos grunting in the water and crocodiles sliding past. The magical atmosphere of your surroundings allows you to disconnect slowly from your everyday life in order to connect with untouched wilderness.

You will then travel north to a raw diamond among the nature reserves in Zambia, Liuwa Plain National Park, like the name suggests, home to endless plains and the small wildebeest migration. Enjoy game drives not seeing another vehicle for miles and enjoy the comfort of your handpicked property, which is only one of a handful in the entire park.

The next highlight is a walking safari and expedition in the famous South Luangwa National Park, stage for numerous animal documentaries and pristine wilderness area. Instead of using planes or other resourceful transportation between your lodges, you will walk, the only true and most authentic safari experience.

YOUR JOURNEY

Victoria Falls (Zambia)

2 Nights

Your first stop is one of the Seven Natural World Wonders: The Victoria Falls on the Zambian side mesmerise with grandeur and stunning beauty. Home to the famous Devil’s Pool, it is also a wildlife paradise and a place of sheer tranquility on the shores of the Zambezi. The Victoria Falls leave us human beings in awe and teach us the overwhelming grandeur of nature. The origin of Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, is an attraction in itself, with a myriad of beautiful experiences. While most visitors expect a guided tour of the Falls to be the absolute highlight, they will be surprised by how many more activities can fill their days here. Head over to the Zimbabwean side and learn to cook like a local on the shores of the Zambezi, go on a beautiful sunset cruise passing by elephants, hippos and crocs or cross the Victoria Falls Bridge to Zambia in a historic tram. Our favourite hangout is the ultra-stylish Zambezi House with an interior you would normally expect in Cape Town or Lagos.

Liuwa Plain

3 Nights

Liuwa Plain is the hidden gem amongst Zambia’s national parks. Here you won’t find tourist masses and a reserve that is strictly managed for conservation and non-profit purposes. Oh, and it’s also home to the second largest wildebeest migration in the world. This destination is also one of the oldest reserves in Africa and a perfect example of cohabitation between wildlife and the 12,500 people legally living in the park. Apart from the huge population of wildebeest, slowly but surely more species are reintroduced to Liuwa Plain such as lion, eland and buffalo. The park is managed by African Parks, one of the most successful conservation organisations in Africa.

South Luangwa

7 Nights

Your next destination is the South Luangwa National Park. This is the ultimate destination for walking safaris and world-famous because of various wildlife documentaries on TV. Don’t worry, however, this doesn’t mean you will be faced with crowds of Big Five seekers. On the contrary, Zambia is still a hidden gem amongst the safari destinations and truly wild. Expect to roam through open grasslands, across wide river beds and between thick bushes to experience the untouched wilderness – just like its wild residents. Whether it’s on the river bank, between the tall trees further inland or in the thick bush, your expert guide will show you all the small and big secrets of the wild. Especially safaris on foot are an unforgettable experience as you can smell, feel and see your surroundings in the most authentic way.
